A. James Worrell of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. He was 84 years old. Alton James Worrell was born on August 2, 1935, in Monroe, Michigan, to the late Alton Yazel and Dorothy (Pegler) Worrell. He was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School.
James married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Norita Clock on September 8, 1956; she survives him. Following marriage, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Upon his return, James began working as a patternmaker at Franklin Pattern in Saginaw; eventually becoming a business partner, owner and operator, and dedicated 50 years to the company. James was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church in Shields. He enjoyed woodworking and intricately handcrafted a cement and pickup truck over the years. Above all, James loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Norita Worrell of Saginaw; two sons: Matthew (Beth) Worrell of Abilene, TX; Michael Worrell of Oxford, PA; two granddaughters: Sarah Worrell of Sweetwater, TX; Emma Worrell of Abilene, TX; one great-grandson, Kyngstyn Eagle.
Due to the world wide pandemic, a private service has taken place with Pastor Douglas R. Jackson officiating. Burial took place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
