George was known to be a kind and giving man. He would give anyone almost anything that they needed, even going without himself or giving away his own birthday presents. He was a hard working man of God. Mr. Watkins was a cab driver for a long time and really enjoyed it. He was well known and much loved in the community.

George leaves behind his daughter Tammy White and her husband Randy and daughter Debbie Bynum and her partner Jimmy Clanton. Grandchildren Justin Lee White and wife Beth, Marshall Brandon White, David Earl Watkins, Derek Daniel Henderson, and Anthony Allen Miller (deceased). Great-grandchildren Tony, Charles, Isiah, Josiah, Noah, Autumn, Taylor, Evan, Brandon, and Hunter. Brothers Frank Watkins and John Watkins and sister Roxie Jane Pearson.

George liked to hunt small game and fish in younger days. In his 20s he was working 2 jobs and teaching Sunday School on Sunday. He was a hard worker but still found the time to give free cab rides and hand out Christmas presents from the trunk of his cab during the holidays.
