He was the second of seven children. He grew up in west Texas , Odessa and sometimes going to Big Springs Texas to visit his great grandparents , William Benton Ayers and Dessie Bell Ayers née Byrom . He had a great childhood running around the streets riding his bicycle with siblings and friends. He built Christmas tree forts after the holidays when people tossed their dying Christmas tree- Later the family moved to the Dallas area where Mike lived until he graduated high school. After that he stayed in Dallas for three years before moving to Austin Texas where he resided until his death - He died Saturday May 2, 2020 of severe complications of pneumonia.
