Katherine Abbott transitioned into glory May 1, 2020 at Maryview Medical Center.

Katherine, affectionately known as “Mother Abbott”, was born July 10, 1932 in Goldsboro, NC to Nate and Sarah McKeller.

She received her GED at Parkview Elementary School and later on she received a certificate in Home Health Care. Wherever there was a need she was available.

Katherine was joined in marriage to Charles Abbott for 48 years.

Katherine accepted Christ into her life in the year of 1972. Mother Abbott enjoyed cooking, sewing and singing. But most of all ministering to people and leading lost souls to Jesus Christ. She will truly be missed by all.

Survived by her children, Charles R. Abbott, Hardy (Marketa) Abbott, Kathy (Rodney) Mitchell and Barbara White; grandchildren, KaJuana Jainu, Hardy Jr., Charles Jr., Leomia; and a host of great grandchildren and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Charles and son Clarence.

Please note that the Funeral Home follows the CDC guidelines, allowing only 10 persons to attend the funeral and only 10 persons at a time in the building for the visitation. The CDC suggests and the Funeral Home requires masks to be worn by all persons who enter the building.
