Bonnie Kay Porter, 52, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord, with immediate family at her side Friday, March 20 after a difficult and long battle with Leukemia

She was born January 11, 1963, in Anderson. Bonnie was a member of the New Day Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Praise Team. She had worked at the Anderson Public Library as well as the Lapel Library and was recently the recipient of the Carnegie Award for outstanding achievement for public libraries. She was a former member to the Indiana Teacher's Association. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick "Kevin" Porter; son, Sean Porter; stepchildren, Andrew P. Porter and Megan M. Caristi; mother, Anna (Stephenson) Barkdull; siblings, Beverly (Jeff) Parks, Brian (Jackie) Barkdull, Beth (Kent) Leininger, and Brenda Hammons; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Larry Lee Barkdull.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Fall Creek Christian Church, 1102 W 700 S, Pendleton, with Pastor Chris Hubler officiating. Burial will be at Grovelawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fall Creek Christian Church, with an hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Leukemia Research Assoc., Anderson Public Library, or New Day Baptist Church.
