Obituary: "D.C. Baker age 81, husband of Emily Carter Baker of Warren died Wednesday July 9, 1975 at the Bradley county Memorial Hospital. He was born May 19, 1894 at Sturgis, Mississippi, the son of the late Sam and Rebecca Estella Miller Baker. He was a retired Lumberman, a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Emmaus Baptist Church.

"Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Alva Via, and Miss Beatrice Baker of Warren. Funeral was at 2:00p.m. Friday, July 11, 1975 at the Emmaus Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Martin, Rev. W.O. Tomlin and Allen Wiese officiating. Organist was Kay Scroggins. Soloist was Jimmy Elliff. Burial was in Moseley's Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Pall Bearers were, Thomas Moore, Robert Scroggins, Paul Carter, James Carter, Tom Elliff, and Jerry Jackson."
