Gladeen was the daughter of Lonnie Collins and Susie Mae Berryhill Collins. She was educated in the Dooly County School System. She later attended Nursing School. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and playing cards. She was a member of the New Birth Tabernacle Church in Vienna, Georgia.
Gladeen was married to Willie James "Pepper" Hargrove. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Willie Frank Collins, L.C. Collins, Milton Collins and Henry Lee Collins and 3 sisters; Louise Rawls, Jessie Mae Collins and Betty Jean Armstrong.

2 Daughters: Rosalyn Collins and Rashell L.Collins.
1 Son: Anthony Collins.
1 Sister: Overseer Annie Doris Reynolds(Minister Leroy).
1 Brother: Johnny Collins.
10 Grandchildren: Devin, Aubrey, Kennedy, Kharly, Jayden, Triston, Tyler, Anquavious, Emillia and Jay.
