BYRUM, Mrs. Laura Ann of Elgin. Age 81. Died 2/11/1949 (Wednesday) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.L. Waters in Elgin following a heart attack. Services held (Thursday) at Pleasant Retreat Church near Thorndale. Burial in family cemetery there. Rev. M.A. Gary officiated.

She was the wife of the late Rev. L.R. Byrum, Baptist minister in Central Texas for some 42 years.

SURVIVORS: 10 children, Clarence Byrum of Brookshire, Ernest of Groesbeck, Mrs. Janie Farmer, Mrs. Austin Langham and Mrs. Gollie Langham, all of Houston, Mrs. H.W. Farmer, Lexington, Mrs. Ella Suhr, Orchard; Mrs. M.F. Peters, Dime Box, Mrs. Jesse Bingham, Killeen, Mrs. G.L. Waters, Elgin; 2 sisters, Mrs. T.M. Carter, Ft.Worth and Mrs. Rilla Browning of Lohn.
