Funeral services were held for Edwin Fraki age 85, of New York Mills, Minnesota on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills, Minnesota, with Pastor Nicholas Kandoll officiating. The hymns were sung by the congregation, accompanied by Amy Mursu. Special music was provided by Amy & Irene Mursu. The pallbearers were Jessie Fraki, Glen Mursu, Don Maunumaki, David Keskitalo, Dan Keskitalo and Zach Eifert. Military honors were provided by Charles D. Center V.F.W. Post 3289 of New York Mills, Minnesota. Edwin was laid to rest in Prairie Cemetery, Ottertail, Minnesota. Edwin Ernest Fraki was born on April 5, 1931 in Leaf Lake Township, rural Ottertail, Minnesota. His parents were the late Nester and Hilma (Fiskari) Fraki. Edwin was confirmed on July 7, 1946 at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills, Minnesota. He attended School District #134 South in Leaf Lake Township. Edwin proudly served in the United States Army from May 14, 1952 to April 30, 1954 in Panama. He was employed at Ottertail Power from May 31, 1950 until retiring on June 1, 1991. Edwin made his home in Parkers Prairie from 1978 until 1990 when he moved to New York Mills. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and canning the vegetables that he grew in his garden. He has been a lifelong member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills and the New York Mills American Legion Post #0116. On November 23, 2016 Edwin passed away at Perham Health in Perham, Minnesota at 85 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Edwin in death were his parents; brothers: Einar Fraki, Melvin Fraki; sisters: Helen Amberg, Linda Maunumaki, Esther Eifert and Alice Keskitalo.

Edwin is survived by his sisters: Hilma Mursu of New York Mills and Ellen (John) Mursu of New York Mills; many other relatives and a host of friends.
