John Marion Nation Jr., 78, died on April 13, 2020, at the Allen Oaks Nursing Home in Oakdale, Louisiana.


John was born April 9, 1942, to John Marion Nation and Helen Plunkett, in Hammondsville, Ohio. The fifth of six children, he spent his childhood there, later living in Texas and Louisiana.


John served a tour in the US Army and as a civilian worked many jobs over the years with his last as a truck driver. John always willing to help, supported his sister-in-law, Hazel Mae (Taylor) Wiles, after the death of her husband and his brother, Joseph Wiles.


John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma Josephine (Taylor), son John Marion, sister Linda (Nation) Smith, and half-brothers Leonard, Joseph, and Edward Wiles, half-sister Louise, grandson Michael Lamp and granddaughter Rachel McDole.


He is survived by his daughters Martha (Allen) Bryant, Denise (Jerry) McDole, Virginia (Lynn) Dempsey, Victoria, and son Lenard. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.


As he requested, there will be no formal service and his ashes will be buried with his wife Wilma Josephine Nation at the Falba Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas.
