Mary founded the Animal Service League c. 1950, whose mission was to find good homes for stray and homeless animals. She served as its president for over 40 years; received Monroe County Humanitarian Award. Active and original member of St. Ambrose parish council/school board. She worked in banking Human Resources, rising to officer of the American Institute of Banking.
Predeceased by her husband Edward S., daughter Jeanne, and siblings, Georgette, James, and Dorothy. Survived by her daughter Johanna Ambrose, grandchildren Jonna Mary (Adam) and Joseph Edward (Aineki Traverso) Fritsch, many loving nieces and nephews-Elizabeth, Laurel, Susan, Dale, Lorey, Andrea and extended family.
