Leif Erling Brattos passed away peacefully February 14, 2017.

He was born on April 26, 1927 to Albert Edvard and Margit Elenora Tang Brattos, in Askim, Göteborg, Sweden.

Leif was raised around a large extended family and loved his family very much.

One of his dearest memories as a child was the time spent with his little sister Majvor, who passed away when she was only 16 months old.

At a young age Leif showed a great interest in art and mechanics.

This lead to a lifelong love of carpentry and architectural design.

His work included building boats, furniture, toy trucks or cars and many other projects.

He became a General Contractor and loved designing and building homes.

Leif married Inga-Lill Kallen (later divorced) and had three children, Peter, Marianne and Jane, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Leif married the love of his life, Clyda Allred on April 4, 1974, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Together they shared many happy memories.

They enjoyed gardening, working together on building houses, and taking road trips.

Above all they enjoyed spending time with their family and often had grandchildren, nieces and nephews over to spend time with.

After the death of Clyda's sister, Joyce Saderup, Leif and Clyda raised Joyce's two youngest daughters; Elizabeth and Rachel whom they loved as their own children.

Leif and Clyda also remained close to Joyce's other three children; Joshua, Mary and Jacob.

Leif was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ.

He served a mission in Finland as a supervisor for church buildings.

He loved the scriptures and discussing gospel doctrines with his family.

He held many callings including Home Teaching Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher and High Priest Group Leader.

He was a faithful home teacher to the ones he taught.

He served as a tour guide at Temple Square.

He and Clyda were called to serve two senior missions; one to the Swedish Branch and the other to the Wandamere Ward, in South Salt Lake.

He also enjoyed attending the temple and served as a telephone operator in the Salt Lake Temple for many years.

Leif and Clyda were dedicated to each other until the end, Clyda was a devoted wife who visited him daily when his health declined as he lived in a nursing home for care.

Leif will be remembered for his humor, love for nature, beautiful woodwork and especially for the love he had for his family.
