Shirley Yeager, 87, of Webster City, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at First Presbyterian Church east of Kamrar with Pastor Paul Fischer, officiating. Burial will be in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City.

Shirley Marilyn Wright, daughter of Harold and Madeline Tudor Wright, was born November 2, 1931, in Webster City. She attended Lincoln High School. On April 25, 1948, she married Robert (Bob) Jay Yeager at The Little Brown Church in Nashua. Through the years, Shirley worked for Farm Bureau, Ellsworth Turkey Plant, Iowa State University, Williams COOP, Northeast Hamilton School District, and Brekken, Deppe, Wynia & Cook.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Merna) Yeager of Greenwood, AR, Kristy (Al) Bentley of San Antonio, TX, Jeff (Carol) Yeager of Kamrar, Mitch (Donna) Yeager of Grimes, 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on December 29, 2016, and her parents.

Shirley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar. Shirley and Bob wintered in Weslaco, TX, for 17 years. She enjoyed dancing, playing games and visiting with family and friends. Shirley’s love for animals was legendary. She also enjoyed helping others and frequently assisted in Southfield Wellness Community activities. Her compassion and humor will be missed.
