Gladys Alene Wood, age 89, of Wheatfield, passed away on May 9, 2020 at Aperion Care Center. She was born February 12, 1931, in Chanute, KS to Archie O. and Bernice (McLaren) Dimon, both deceased.

Gladys graduated from Chanute High School, Class of 1949. She married Harold G. Wood on August 28, 1949 in Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2016. Gladys was a member of Virgie Christian Church. She was a club member of the Certified Stampaholics, Tops of DeMotte, and the Ladies Aid of Virgie. Gladys enjoyed gardening and had many wild flower gardens.

Gladys is survived by her children: Michael (Nancy) Wood of Portage, IN; Terry Wood of Tennessee; Del (Ed) Cleek of Wheatfield, IN; 9 grandchildren, including care-giver Mindy, 5 great-grandchildren, including care-giver Kaite and 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank Matilda the Cow for being her security blanket for the past 3 years.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, sons: Danny Wood and Lonny Wood; and siblings: Wayne Dimon, Jean Fuller, Marjie Sample, and Beverly Dettmer.
