Judith Marie (Robertson) Cox, 77 of West Augusta passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the home of her main caregiver and only daughter, Michelle Murray.
Born August 13, 1942 in Staunton, she was the daughter of the late Newton Franklin Robertson and Marion (Tinsley) Lockhart.

Judith had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and loved the Lord. She enjoyed searching and discovering her family’s genealogy, working puzzles, and creating crafts. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who was selfless and always giving of her time and resources to friends and family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Dinky” Cox; two sons, Jeffrey “Jeffro” Wallace and Keith Cox; granddaughter, Laura Mae Wallace; and sister, Brenda “B-Bug” Barltey.

Survivors include her children, Steve Wallace and wife, Belinda of Stuarts Draft, Tracy Wallace of Lyndhurst, Michelle Cox Murray and husband, Donald of West Augusta, and Jamie Cox and wife, Jennifer of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Vicki Wagner and husband, Brock of Florida, Betty “Betty Lou” Clark of Staunton, and Sandy Melton and husband, Craig of Staunton; numerous nieces and nephews and her cat, Oscar.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Staunton Seventh-day Adventist Church with Chaplain Mark Westebee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to three of her grandchildren who acted as caregivers and helpers through her illness, Derrick Cox, Melissa “Miss Pus” Mays, and Krista Chandler.
