Services for Robert Carter Wade, 77, will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Union Church on Firetower Road in Dekalb, at 1:30pm. Bro. Lee Whitt and Bro. Chris Gully will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2022, from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home in Dekalb, and again from 1:00 to 1:30 Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Bro. Richard Williams officiating. Webb & Stephens – Dekalb is handling his arrangements.

Mr. Wade was a Christian family man. He graduated from Dekalb High School in 1964. He was a 100% Disabled Veteran, having served in The United States Army in Vietnam. He was a retired respiratory therapist who had a passion for helping sick babies. He was a member of Union Church and the Union Cemetery Board of Trustees. Robert enjoyed fishing, photography, woodworking, and collecting studying Bibles, but what he loved most was his family, especially the grandchildren who affectionately called him "Pop".

Pallbearers will be Matthew Boyd, Andy Boyd, Mark Fleming, Jason Wade, Ryan Wade, Noah Wade, Canyon Mitchell, and Brad Loden. Honorary pallbearers are Philip Boyd and Judah Fleming.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wendy; his children Daniel Wade (Ashley) and Adam Wade; 7 grandchildren Ally Wade Mitchell (Canyon), Noah Wade, Star Wade, Seth Wade, Charlton Wade, and Elias Wade, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert B. and Marjorie Wade, stepmother Nelda Wade, and a brother Chris Wade.

The family suggests the following for anyone wishing to send memorials: Gideons International and Batson Children's Hospital.
