Vera Wilma (nee Johnson) Jameson Rowlings/1984.
* July 12, 1984 Mrs. Vera Rowlings, 85, Hantsport, died Sunday in Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax. Born in Waterville, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Earnest and Lila (Banks) Johnson. She spent 35 years in Massachusetts working as an LTN nurse. After returning to Nova Scotia, she studied art at Acadia University and also with William De Garthe at Peggy's Cove. She then taught painting in schools for more than 20 years and sold a number of oil paintings in Nova Scotia. She is survived by her son, Sergeant Ivan D. Jameson, Florida; two sisters Grace Matthes, Nateck, Mass.; Agness Choon [Agnes Cohoon]; a step-daughter Leon MacLean, Dartmouth, three stepsons, Kenneth Rowlings, Dartmouth; William Rowlings, Boston; Edwin Laurence Rowlings, Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin, a sister, Esther; three brothers Atwood, Orrin and Chester. The body was cremated with burial of ashes in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Centre Rawdon. A memorial service will be 3 pm Thursday, July 12, in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Centre Rawdon. Rev. Arthur Cuzner and Rev. Gary Thorne officiating. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church.
