He lived in Bluefield, VA attending Dudley Elementary until the age of 11 then moved with his mother, two brothers and grandparents to Fort Walton Beach, FL . He then attended Max Bruner Jr. High School and graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1979.
Served in the United States Army, Green Beret Special Forces until he was honorably discharged in 1987
While serving in the Army he met his future wife whom he married on April 4, 1987
After his military service, Ron worked for his family's business, Sunshine Uniform. He later owned "Cooter Brown's," a local bar in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
He and his wife and children relocated to Montpelier, VT, where his lived until his passing.
He became an alcohol and drug counselor, he served the central Vermont community with the Lighthouse Program through Washington County Mental Health Department.
Member of the American Legion Post #3, Elk's Club, VFW and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also one of the founders of the Vermont Vet to Vet program (sponsored by the VA Hospital)
Survived by his wife of 33 years; his 4 children and their families; his mother; his siblings (2 sisters and 1 brother); nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
