Norma departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2019 . Norma Virginia Lewis-Florence was born on October 24, 1945 to Julius H. Flourence and Grace L. (Taylor) Flourence in Brownsville, TN. S

She moved to Detroit, MI at the age of 5 and educated in the Detroit Public School system, graduating from Central High School in 1963, at the age of 18, she moved to Elyria, OH.
She worked for General Motors as a machine operator for over 30 years before retiring.

After retiring, Norma attended Cosmetology school at Northern Institute of Cosmetology in Lorain, OH. Upon graduating, she opened Love Your Hair by Norma. In addition, she became an instructor at the Northern Institute of Cosmetology. .

She accepted Christ at an early age and had a strong faith. She was always willing to tell what the Lord has done! Norma was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.

Norma was the mother of 4 sons: Fritz Darnel Green, Anthony Kyle Maxey, Marc Maxey and Jason C. Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Sons: Marc (Laquita) Maxey of Indianapolis, IN and Jason (Denise) Lewis of Cleveland, OH; Stepsons: Charles Lewis, Jr., of Gainsville, FL, Jack Lewis of Tampa, FL, Barney Lewis of Columbus, OH and Markus Younkin of Lorain, OH; Stepdaughters: Amanda L. Lee of Greenville, MS and Barbara Lewis-Coleman of Olathe, KS; Sisters: Delores Cleaver and Linda Ansong of Detroit, MI, and Jackie Walton of Elyria, OH; Brother: Layfette (Mildred) Flourence of Syracuse, NY; 10 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends .

Norma was preceded in death by her parents: Julius and Grace Flourence; Sons: Fritz Darnel Green and Anthony Kyle Maxey; Brother: James H. Flourence; and Sister: Julia M. Flourence-Jones.

Family and friends may call on Friday, December 20th, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Ave., Lorain, OH 44055, Pastor Elder Tyrone Holley will be the Eulogist. Burial at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
