Kathryn Pearl Hoover, 58, of Pleasant Hill, was born, June 26, 1961, in West Plains, Missouri. She departed this life, Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center surrounded with love and family.

Kathy was a 1979 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

On November 26, 1983, she was united in marriage to Hal Ewing Hoover at the Pleasant Hill First Presbyterian Church; they divorced in 2003.

Kathryn was a Crew Leader for Greeson’s Greenhouse in Lone Jack for many years. She then went to work as a Chef for Benton House in Belton. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and hummingbirds. She was an animal lover and was especially fond of all children.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mom, Joan Adler, ten weeks earlier on February 22, 2020.

She is survived by her five children, Amanda (and Zack) Allen of Mercer, Kelly Hoover of Knob Noster, Kevin (and Shannon) Hoover of Lee’s Summit, Debbie Hoover-Vires of Fallon, Nevada, and Holly Hoover of Kansas City; four grandchildren, Morgan, Kaytlann, Curtis, and Dean; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will be in the Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
