He was born November 11, 1938 in Muskegon, MI to the late Raymond and Sara May (Nolan) Engle.
He was married to Martha B. (Braun) Engle on March 6, 1965.
Survived by his wife, Martha of Ste. Geneveive; Three Sons, Tom Jr. and his wife Kelley Engle of Middleton, Wisconsin, Robert Engle, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Darin and his wife Marietta Engle, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Four Grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Julian, and Emeline.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother, Raymond Engle Jr., and Granddaughter, Elise Claire Engle.
Tom was a native of Muskegon, Michigan. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with an Associate Degree in Fire Protection Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Formerly of Crestwood, MO, he worked for Marsh & McLennon(24 years) and Rollins Burdick Hunter (7 Years)insurance brokers in St. Louis, as a Protection Consultant and Department Vice President. He was an instructor of evening classes for firefighters at several area community colleges. After retiring to Ste.
Genevieve County he worked briefly as Building Inspector for the city and did consulting work for fire districts throughout the state.
A Past President of the Ste. Genevieve Rotary Club, he organized the First Annual Duck Race, an ongoing club project and a staple of Jour de Fete. Tom was a passionate hockey fan and an inaugural St. Louis Blues season ticket holder. Tom was proud to have visited
all Fifty states and nearly Forty countries.
