"A time to be born"
Jean Katherine Jordan was born March 10, 1935, in Marshall, Texas to Omedia and Mittie Savannah.
"And a time to plant"
Jean was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
"And the Lord said, it is not good that man should be alone…"
On May 9, 1954, she married Roosevelt Jordan. Their relationship stood the test of time, lasting until her death in 2020.
"God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply…"
To this union, two children were born -- Omedia and Katrina.
"And a time to learn"

Master's of Education – Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas

Educator for 40 plus years with Arkansas Independent School District; Tatum Independent School District and Marshall Independent School District

Her life exemplified one of the greatest commandments – love. The love of God was first and foremost in her life, followed by the love of her family and friends. She also loved her work in the church and the community.
"And a time to die"
Jean departed this life on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
"And a time of peace"
Jean Katherine Jordan is now at peace, resting in the redemptive love of the Lord Jesus Christ. A life lived as she lived cannot die, but will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Let the peace and love Jesus Christ be with you all and let your memories of her always fill your hearts with love and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Omedia and Mittie Savannah; brothers, William O. Savannah, and Joel Sims Savannah.
Jean leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 66 years, Roosevelt Jordan, of Marshall, Texas; two children, one son, Omedia B. Jordan, of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Katrina J. Watts, of Lancaster, Texas; one granddaughter, Chelsea R. Watts, of Lancaster, Texas; two brothers, Winston (Shirley) Savannah, of Dallas, Texas, and Ronald (Mildred) Savannah, of Marshall, Texas; one sister, Bettie Morgan, of Mineola, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends."
