His parents were W A Howard(1829-1901) & Nancy Brown (1834-1900)of Heard County, GA,USA. His paternal gparents were John H Howard (1806VA-1860GA) & Mary Gill m 1828. His maternal gparents were Robert Brown & Malissa Baggett. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Chappell in 1884 with whom he had five boys & six girls. William Gilford Howard was a twin to John Chatsfield Howard. William & Mary were the parents of Ada Lou Howard who married Henry W Dorough (decendent of Abner Dorough of Dublin, Ireland, later of Jamestown, VA) of Heard County & they had seven children. William Gilford Howard was my GGGrandfather.
