She graduated from Midland High School in the class of 1960. In addition to teaching various ages of Sunday school classes in multiple places, she also volunteered in community service. Carol served on the original steering committee for Brown County Family Outreach, a state program that provided services and support to struggling families. Through Family Outreach, she became a Motherhood Mentor to several families in the Central Texas area. The four passions of her life were: 1. Family. 2. Singing specials and teaching her own children the joy of singing. Third, Books. From classic literature, to paperback crime chronicles, Carol Annice Rambo Freeman loved the written word and the enrichment that reading brings to life. And lastly, but most importantly, Jesus. As children, she and her brother, brought their own parents to the church that they found their salvation in when they lived in San Angelo.
