Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Le Roy, Illinois, with Pastor Mike Bailey officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Le Roy Emergency Ambulance Service or OSF Hospice.
Mrs. Scott was born February 14, 1927, in Mansfield, Illinois, to George and Luera Schmall Mabis. She married Donald R. Scott on October 27, 1946, in Mansfield, Illinois. He passed away January 9, 1985.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Garry) Bruning and Peggy (Mike) Bailey all of Le Roy, Illinois; six grandchildren, Michelle Bailey; Scott (Brandi) Bailey; Matthew (Trisha) Bailey; Gail Bruning Whitehouse; Jill (Scott Tira) Bruning; and Jenifer (Damon) Ingram; and ten great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Gunnar and Emmerson Bailey; Madelyn Lyle; Brittyn and Broker Bailey; Samantha and Macie Whitehouse; and Parker and Maxwell Ingram.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and seven brothers.
Gladys worked and retired from State Farm Insurance after over 30 years of service.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines; the Le Roy May Queen Rebekah Lodge #210, Le Roy, Illinois; West Twin Grove Christian Church, Bloomington, Illinois; and Le Roy Bethel Church.
Gladys was loved by her family and adored by many. She had a servant's heart, always helping others. She was kind, brave, generous and funny. A ray of sunshine to all who met her. Her light was constant. Her love unwavering. Her faith unbroken. It is her love for Jesus that provides strength and comfort during this difficult time. She is with her Savior. No more pain. No more suffering. Our hearts are forever changed and we will cherish the memories for the rest of our days. Thank you, God, for this wonderful woman.
