She grew up on a farm southwest of Fosston and graduated from Fosston High School. She met the love of her life, Duane Olson, and they married in September of 1970. They had two children, Stacy and Jessica. Judy loved the farm and they raised cattle and were involved with 4-H for many years. Her grandson, Austin, was a big part of her life during that time.
Judy loved to teach and decided to go back to school and had numerous academic degrees and accomplishments. Judy had a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with special licensures in Special Education, Learning Disabilities, and Behavior Disorders. She received her Master of Science Degree in Special Education from Bemidji State University and went on to work as Director of Special Education, ABP, at Moorhead State University. She then attained her Doctorate in Education from the University of North Dakota and Judy presented at Oxford, England at the Round Table. She presented “A Case Study in Paternal Child Relationships”.
Judy had a passion for antiques. Every time there was a store, we needed to stop. Judy and Jessica traveled the State of Minnesota and neighboring States to find that “perfect” piece. Judy also did her Park Lane Jewelry, as she said, “for her fun time with the girls”.
The world is truly a better place because she was in it. She will be dearly missed by many and was rewarded and educated by many in her life. We love you and cherish you forever!
Judy is survived by her children: Stacy, and Jessica (Troy) Horn; siblings: Richard (Julie) Kroening, Karen (Ron) Olson, twin brother, Jack (Faye) Kroening, and Gary (Dawn) Kroening; grandson, Austin (Allison) Kindem; a great grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Vi Kroening.
Interment will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston.
