Lisa Ann Smithers-Eddy was born in Sacramento, California on April 26, 1966, to O. Lester and Priscilla Smithers. She departed this life unexpectedly on April 22, 2020, in her home in Spring Hill, Florida.

As a child, Lisa moved to Springfield, Ohio with her parents. She became a longtime member of New North Street AME Church, Springfield, Ohio. After graduating from Springfield North High School, Lisa served in the United States Air Force. After an honorable discharge, Lisa remained in Florida and received an associate degree in Nursing from Hillsborough Community College. Lisa served as the Director of Support for the Annual Police Unity Tour from 2009 until 2015. She was employed as a Quality Improvement Coordinator for Sunshine Healthcare in Tampa, Florida.

Lisa was united in marriage to Gregory Eddy in 2017 on a cruise where many of her family and friends were in attendance. The couple settled in Spring Hill, Florida. Along with her husband, Lisa continued her walk with Christ by going on a mission trip to Antigua to aid in the building of a church. Together, during the Christmas season, they would faithfully purchase and distribute care packages to the homeless. Lisa had a huge heart for people who could not help themselves. She was a lover of animals, especially her three dogs, tortoise, and fish. She enjoyed singing, music, fishing, cooking, boating, and sitting by her pool. She loved her family and friends. Her nephew, TJ, held an exceptionally special place in her heart. Lisa was dedicated to preserving her heritage as she took an active role in the Smithers Family Heritage Association Inc.

Lisa is predeceased by her mother, Priscilla J. (Spriggs) Smithers. She is survived by her husband, Gregory Eddy; father, O. Lester Smithers Jr.; sister, Sheila (Troy) Taylor; nephew, Troy Taylor II; uncle, Ralph(Carole) Smithers; a very special aunt, Veronica (Charles) Bryant; mother in-law Kathleen Eddy; sisters-in-law Janet (Walter) Coulby, Karen (Albert) Anthony, Renee Eddy; brother-in-law, Zachary Eddy; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of life will be Monday, May 11, 2020 with viewing at 12:00pm and service beginning at 1:00pm at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. Rev. Jacqueline Randolph officiating. Due to the restrictions set forth by the government regarding COVID-19, there will be a limited number of people allowed in the funeral home during the service. We will be live streaming the service via the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center Facebook page. Internment at Ferncliff Cemetery.
