Charles Gary Maynard, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Olcott, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Charles was married to Gayle Carmer Maynard. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer. He was born in Lockport, NY, on October 7, 1946, the son of the late Charles E. Maynard and the late Eunice “Maggie” Maynard.

Charles graduated from Newfane Central School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 through 1968. He retired from General Motors as a Pipefitter in 1999 after 34 years.

Father of Charles (Kathleen) Maynard and Cori (Anthony Romo) Maynard; proud Grandfather of Kailen (Mitchell) Piper and Maci Maynard; brother of Sheri (James) Springer, Michael (Cindy Hudson) Maynard and John (Denise) Maynard; son-in-law of Betty (late William) Carmer, brother-in-law of Darlene (late Thomas) Carey, Patti (Kevin) Bluhm and William Carmer. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Charles will be interned in Bushnell National Cemetery in Florida. There will be a private ceremony for the family.

Memorials can be made in Charles’s name to Olcott Fire Company, 1691 Lockport-Olcott Rd., Burt, NY 14028, where he was an exempt member.
