Clarence "Junebug" Brooks III of Danville, IL., passed away at 6:04 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Carle foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born Sept. 7, 1958, the son of Clarence and Clarenza Brooks.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents RB and Marilue Steele, paternal grandparents, Clarence and Learline (Brown) Brooks, niece, Candace Matchem, and nephews, Thomas Brooks Jr., and Kendall Swanson. Clarence graduated from Danville High School and later joined the United States Army. He served two tours in the Gulf War, Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Clarence enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching UFC and spending time with his grandkids.

Clarence is survived by his son, Clarence D. Brooks IV, three grandchildren, Laniya Mauldin, De'Vontea Brooks and Eszmee Brooks, four brothers, Thomas (Laura) Brooks, Billy Jo Brooks, Recardo (Lynette) Brooks and Juan Brooks, three sisters, Joyce Steele Shepherd, Doris Steele Matchem, and Eliza Brooks, three nephews, Damion (Selina) Steele, James (Takiya) Shepherd, Darren (Kionna) Matchem, four nieces, Jasmine Shepherd, Raven Brooks, Marissa Lambert, Marie Brooks. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, who loved him dearly.

There are no services scheduled at this time. A memorial for Clarence Brooks III will be held at a later date. His family has entrusted his care to Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams. There will be a private burial at the Danville National Cemetery 1900 E. Main.
