September 7, 1953 ~ March 11, 2020

Jon Walker, 66, of Webster City died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines.

Due to the state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will be having a public memorial at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Jonathan Craig Walker, son of Alvin and Lucille (Smith) Walker, was born September 7, 1953 in Webster City. He was a proud graduate of the Webster City High School class of 1971. Jon was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1973, but he never let this set him back from what he wanted to do. He farmed with his father and brother and had also worked for Woodard Feed. Jon loved to hunt and trap when he was younger, especially using his traps to help out neighbors and friends who were dealing with an unwanted wild animal.

He is survived by his brother, Jim (Patty) Walker of Webster City; sister, Luanne (Greg) Paper of Stanhope; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Scott) Schumacher, Bill (Kris) Walker, Kristy (Joe) Teague, Brett (Kasey) Walker, Lacey (Jordan) Kite, Kit Paper and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Blairsburg Lions Club. Jon loved to donate to many organizations and was a past member of 4H and FFA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to On With Life (rehabilitation center for brain Injuries), 715 SW Ankeny Rd, Ankeny IA 50023 or Trinity Lutheran Church.
