She was the daughter of Pearl Naylor & James Lafayette Britt, Sr. and sister of James Lafayette Britt, Jr. She married Donald Wayne Martin on 10-8-1961 in New Hanover, N. C.
Her father died from injuries in an automobile accident in Alexander, VA when she was nine months old and before her brother was born. (Information form father's Virginia death certificate and North Carolina probate records.

Iris Britt Martin 91 of Lilburn, GA died 5-4-2020. Iris is survived by sons, Walter Rish Martin and James Leonard Martin; 5 grandchildren, Watson, Carter, Greenlee, Bailey, and Graham Martin; several nieces and nephews.
Iris was born in Mt. Olive, NC, grew up in Clinton, Boone, and Wilmington, NC, and graduated from Women's College in NC.
She married D. Wayne Martin in 1961, in Wilmington, NC. They were married for 58 years when he died on 2-2-2020.
Iris supported her husband's ministry as a Baptist pastor for 45 years in NC and FL, serving in many capacities. She played piano, loved to read, loved ACC basketball, and raised two sons. ........
