Veronica “Verna” Joanne (Dugan) Blair

Born to Dale Dugan and Yolanda Passafero on July 15, 1932 in Charles City, Iowa.

Verna loved reading, movies, and doted on her boxers, Clint and Jerry. She was known for her delicious apple pie and sweet nature. She loved family get togethers for all occasions.

Verna worked as a linotype operator most of her career, along with developing the pictures. She retired from the Daily Record in Cedar Falls after 25 years. Verna and her husband Bill owned the Parkade Printer for another 10 years, continuing in the printing business.

Verna leaves behind a daughter, Dayle Hayes; two grandchildren, Tanner (Megan) Cheeseman, and Mia Cheeseman; two great grandchildren, Molly and Emerson Cheeseman; a brother Len Dugan; nieces, Mindy (Kevin) Shea and Angela Dugan; a nephew, Patrick Dugan; three great nieces, Joesy and Lensy Shea, Luci Dewey; and one great nephew, Flyn Dewey.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Blair; her parents, Dale and Yolanda Dugan; her maternal grandparents, Eugenio and Maria Passafero and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Verna Dugan; and many wonderful cousins as well.

Verna was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

Inurnment will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12th in Cemetery, Charles City.
