Sandra Rose Sapp (Hosek), 63, of Hickman passed away May 5, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandi was born on June 21, 1956 in Ord, NE. She attended Arcadia Country School and graduated from Ord High School. She then attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln before beginning a career at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. It was there that she realized her gift for helping those going through the most difficult of times. Her compassion for others led her to the development of a grief recovery program where she was able to support countless families.

She met her husband, Mark, in 1977. The two were married on November 3, 1979. They raised two children, Paige and Lucas. The family resided in Lincoln until 1994, then made their home on an acreage outside of Hickman.

Sandi's career path led her in many directions and her outgoing, personable nature allowed her various job opportunities. After working at other Lincoln funeral homes, she changed her course and began working at Mature Resources Staffing Agency. She then enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in the community while working at the Voice Newspaper in Hickman. Her most recent position was at Hickman Physical Therapy, where she worked as a PT tech and receptionist.

Sandi loved socializing and thrived on serving others. She was adventurous and loved being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, kayaking and spending time at their family cabin. She was a faithful member of Saint James Catholic Church in Cortland. Sandi loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a caring and loyal friend and those who were lucky enough to have known her are sure to have shared a fun memory with her.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Paige (Chris) Beins of Henderson; son, Lucas of Lincoln; grandsons, Cooper, Briggs and Hayes of Henderson; brothers, Richard (Sandy) Hosek of Lincoln and Ron (Diane) Hosek of Carmel, Indiana; brother-in-law, Bruce Sapp of Lincoln; nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and so many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Minnie Hosek; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Joyce Sapp; sister-in-law, Deb Sapp.
