Roger Lee Hawkins, age 75, of Abingdon, VA passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in the Wellmont Hospice House. He was born June 30, 1942 in Bristol, VA, and was the son of the late Henry and Dorothy Salyer Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins worked at Perry Engineering and then the O’Sullivan Corporation. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of High Point Presbyterian Church. He lived most of his life in the Bristol area, and he also lived several years in Winchester, VA.



Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister on August 2, 2018, Eula Hawkins Wright. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Edna Mitchell Hawkins. Also surviving is son, Roger Hawkins, Jr. and wife Debbie; step son, Jeffrey Snapp; sisters, Peggy Thorne and husband Ron, Debbie Hotinger and husband Andrew; brother, Henry Hawkins and Donella; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Brandi.
