"Marion "Jesse" Thomas was born on July 15, 1947. He left us on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, Ms. He was 73 years old.
"Born in Vicksburg, Ms, he was the son of the late Charlie G. Thomas and Thelma Russum Thomas. Jesse started his contracting business in the early 1970's and he never looked back. His instinct for construction was started at young age working with his father. His unwavering customers and his contagious gift of gab were a big part of his continued success. He was a Master Mason with the Highland-Jarmon Lodge 113. Jesse was also an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life.
"He is survived by his wife Anita Rozier Thomas, son Jesse W. Thomas, daughters Debbie Thomas, Misty Jabour (John), Candace Bogle (Dave Ellison) and brother Charles "Chuck" Thomas (Quida). His grandchildren Savannah Thomas, Gage Thomas, Dalaney Bogle, John Michael Jabour, Greyson Bogle, Marissa Jabour, and Abi Bogle.
"He was preceeded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Thomas, Walter Thomas, and Edwin Thomas.
"Funeral services for immediate family (due to pandemic) will be held at 11am, Thursday, May 7th, 2020 at Glenwood Funeral Home and graveside service will take place at Wintergreen Cemetery, East Greenwood Street, Port Gibson, MS. 39150.
"Pallbearers are Glenn Alan Kittrell, Glenn Kittrell, Philip (Sonny) Jones, Dave Ellison, and John Jabour. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Hearn, Bud Johnson, Billy Bowers, Danny Skipper, Billy Peebles, Buddy Hanks, Jim Hobson, Dr. Joseph Wilson, Glen Nichols, James Burnett, Bill Shamburger, and Jimmy Johnston.
