Kathleen Roberts, 72 of Abingdon, passed away at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center in Galesburg.
She was born July 7, 1947 in Galesburg, the daughter of Harold M. and Margery P. (Allen) Hickerson. She married Donald Baker. She later married LeRoy Roberts.
Kathleen is survived by one son, Jerry (and Julie) Baker of Avon; two granddaughters, Acacia (and Dan) Wiechmann and Kyanne Baker; two great-granddaughters, Melia and Calette; her father, Harold Hickerson of Galesburg; her siblings, Marcia (and Mike) Morris of Oneida and Dean “Sonny” Hickerson of Abingdon; and nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by one son, D. Kevin Baker in 1987, her mother, Marge Hickerson in 2012 and an infant brother, Kevin Eugene Hickerson in 1951.
She had lived in the Abingdon area all her life. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1965. She worked at the Galesburg K-Mart Store for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking care of her animals and gardening.
Cremation will be accorded. Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, a time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting her family with arrangements.
