Curtis Orin Biggs, 88, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday May 3, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Robert and Effie Biggs in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Curtis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was a founding member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he attended for over 30 years. Curtis never meet a stranger and was loved by all those who knew him. Curtis loved traveling and going camping. He loved his family very much and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Curtis was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years; Joan Biggs, daughter; Dottie Jo Russell, infant son; Curtis Orin Biggs Jr., and granddaughter; Stacy Lynn Biggs.
Curtis is survived by his daughters; Kathleen Ketron and Rebecca Lynn Henley, sons; Michael Howard Biggs and wife Rosie, Anthony Gene Biggs, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the current regulations set forth by the CDC a private Graveside Service will held at Glenwood Shelby Hills Cemetery in Bristol.
In lieu of flowers, the Biggs family has requested that donations be made in Curtis’s memory to the Trinity Baptist Church building Fund. 260 Headtown Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659.
The Biggs family would like to extend a special thank you to Avalon Hospice for their exceptional care to Curtis.
