Born in Greenbush, VA, he was the son of the late Colie and Gladys (Wescott) Mason.
He relocated with his family to Sussex County, DE and graduated from the former Wm C. Jason High School in Georgetown, DE. Upon graduation he attended Delaware Technical & Community College.
He was formerly employed with General Foods (Dover), Chrysler Corp. (Wilmington) and National Cash Register (Salisbury). He retired after twenty-five years from Delmarva Power, Indian River Plant as a Control Operator.
He was a member of the former Prince Hall Lodge #14, F & AM. P.H.A. of Lincoln, DE.
His survivors include his wife, Geraldine (Geri) Mason of Salisbury, MD; one son, Corey Mason of Blades, DE; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren, seven siblings: Diane and Franklin of Dover, DE, Darryl of Harbeson, DE, Colie of New Castle, Rodney of Millsboro, DE Thurman of Milton, DE and David Mason of Georgetown, DE; four aunts: Georgianna Sturgis, Ferris Mae Strand, Gloria Fletcher, all of Parksley, VA and Annette Williams of N. J., and a host of nieces and nephews.
A son, Dennis Mason died in 2010.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Midway Room of the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury, MD. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery, Salisbury, MD. Friends may view Friday from 6-7:30 pm at Jolley Memorial Chapel, Salisbury, MD and on Saturday at the DaNang Room, one hour prior to the service.
