Gene M. Long, 85, of Lewistown, passed away on Monday May 4, 2020 at his home.
Born February 11, 1935 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Partner) Long. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Long, and Siblings, Gerald Long, Ruth Pearson and Betty Mitchell.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Shizuko (Yamashiro) Long, whom he married on March 12, 1960. Also surviving are children, Mark Long, and wife Jossy, of Frisco, TX, Matthew Long, of Lewistown, and Mary Shelly and husband Jeffrey, of Reedsville; Siblings, Thelma Haubrick, of Granville, and Joseph Long, of Lewistown; Grandchildren, Kelli Holloway, and husband Anthony, Kristin Foltz and husband Randy, of Dauphin, Raymond Shelly and wife Melissa, of Reedsville, Robert Shelly, of Lewistown, Michael Long, Jr. and twin-sister, Tatianna, of WV, and Ethan Long and sister Alexa, of TX.
Gene was enlisted in the United States Air Force.
He was employed at Barr-Nunn Trucking, as a truck driver for many years. He was a pilot, and enjoyed flying his airplane any chance that he got. He was also a member of The Short-Wave Radio Club in Lewistown.
A private service will be held at the Barr Funeral Home Inc. & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Rev. John Walters to officiate.
Private interment will take place in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
