Robert Edwin Baird, 73, of Ottumwa, died at 7:55 p.m. May 4, 2020 at Hospice House. He was born September 11, 1946 to Robert "Whitey" and Vicky Foster Baird. He married Raela Wemer and they remained life-long friends.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Ottumwa High School and served with the U.S. Navy from 1965-68. He had worked for Lowenberg Bakery and retired on January 3, 2017 from Ottumwa Transit Authority. Bob loved baseball and especially the Chicago Cubs. He was with the Ottumwa National Little League for 28 years.
Surviving are his children, Scott Baird, Holly Baird and Yogi (Amanda) Baird all of Ottumwa; 6 grandchildren, Tasmann and Dalice Aguilar, Ellee DeWees, Bailey and Emma Veatch and Charlee Baird; 2 sisters, Susan (Carl) Smith and Lori (Paul) McDonald both of Ottumwa; many nieces and nephews and "a brother from another mother, Lee Partin".
He was preceded in death by his parents.
