Marvin was the son of Michael David Fuller (30 Nov 1903-Jul 1981), who emigrated from the Republic of Poland to the United States in 1920. His father changed his last name from Fuhrer to Fuller, and was naturalized as an American citizen in 1927. Marvin's mother, Freda Lida Laufer (12 Aug 1906-Jul 1978), emigrated with her parents from Sucha, Poland, was naturalized as an American citizen in 1932. Marvin was graduated from the University of Michigan and held a juris doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He has four children, two step-children, and numerous grand-and great-grandchildren.
