Eunice Evelyn Doss

January 28, 1930 - May 04, 2020

Losing a wife and mother is one of the deepest sorrow’s a heart can know. With the family standing by her side, Eunice Evelyn Doss, 90 of Springville, VA, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 04, 2020. She was born in McDowell County, WV and was the daughter of the late Robert D Angles, Sr and Luvennie Burkett Angles. She was a faithful member of the Riverside Community Church, formerly First Church of God, North Tazewell, VA. She was a joy to know and a shining example of Christ’s love. She was a devoted member of the Ladies Ministry and loved singing in the church choir and doing song specials with her husband and sisters. All of the neighbors and children in the community adored her and called her “Sissy”. Everyone loved her “lemon jello cakes”. She was an active member of a bowling league and most of all loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and the neighbor’s children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Robert D. Angles, Jr; sisters: Anna Mae Fuller and Cathleen Shrader.

She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 69 years: Douglas Monroe Doss, who was her best friend, companion and soul mate; daughter: Gala DeFriece of Springville, VA; son: Timothy Doss (Sandy) of Tazewell, VA; sisters: Jean Earls (Bill) of Bluefield, VA and Louise Bailey of Springville, VA; grandchildren: Sean DeFriece (Amanda) of Springville, VA and Amanda Doss of Seattle, WA; step-grandchildren: Cody Neel, Cara Neel and Donnie Neel of Wisconsin; great-grandchildren: Andrew DeFriece of Springville, VA and Ariel DeFriece of Pembroke, VA; great great-grandchild: Aubrey Faith DeFriece; a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to the current CDC health regulations and state and local government, there will be a private family service at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor ReVonda DeBoyd officiating. Graveside will be at Grandview Memory Gardens.
