John Paul Pennington, 78, of Argillite, Kentucky, husband of Joan Carolyn Pennington, died Tuesday morning, May 5th, in Community Hospice Care Center. John was born June 14, 1941 in Ironville, Kentucky a son of the late Roscoe and Ethyl Walker Pennington. He was a retired electrician from AK Steel, a US Navy veteran, and a member of the Brush Creek Freewill Baptist Church, where he has served as a Deacon, since 1972. John was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother; Harold Bill Pennington, and 3 sisters; Lucy Globus, Rachel Broughton, and Mary Scott. Surviving, in addition to his wife, include 2 sons; Paul R. Pennington, and wife Kim, of Flatwoods, Kentucky. Jonathan Pennington, and wife Nicole, of Russell, Kentucky. A daughter; Rebecca Deweese, and husband Patrick, of Lavalette, West Virginia. A sister; Phyllis Highfield of Morrison, Tennessee. 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. John will be laid to rest in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Argillite, Kentucky, under the direction of PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.
