Richard Paul Bowman, 87, of Washington, went to his heavenly home on April 30, 2020, while at his residence.

Richard was born in Washington, Indiana, on March 31, 1933, the son of the late Charles A. Bowman and Julia(Shanks)Bowman.

Richard was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed his church family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved mushroom hunting. He loved reading, writing and especially enjoyed poetry. Richard retired from NAD Crane and was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces. He graduated from Washington High School.

Richard is survived by a sister, Rosemary Blair; three daughters, Paula R. Perry, Susan C.(Chris) Smith, and Dixie j. Douglas; eight grandchildren, Bobby Baxter, Lisa Myers, Lori(Alex)Greenmore, Holly(Shane)Bowling, Nathan Arvin, Aaron(Jessica)Arvin, Emilee Arvin and Nicholas(Trish)Arvin; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Lee(Pride)Bowman; sons, Mitchell Ray Bowman, Harold Leon Bowman and James Henry Bowman; daughters, Gail Baxter, LeeAnna Douglas and Loretta Douglas; brothers, Roy Bowman, Harlan Bowman and Forrest"Pug"Bowman.

Services have been entrusted to Gill Funeral Home and are private due to COVID-19.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
