Graveside services for Laverne Thomas, 85, Clinton resident will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, officiated by Doyle Kinney .
Laverne Ethel (Snider) Thomas was born November 22, 1934 to Vernon and Ethel (Muno) Snider in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away in the River Valley Skilled Nursing and Therapy Center (formerly Grace Living Center) in Clinton, Oklahoma.
Laverne was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1952. She married Mr. Virgil Thomas November 25, 1952 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Virgil was in the military and they traveled with the Army for over 22 years. They made their home back in Clinton in 1971.
She was a member of the Custer City Presbyterian Church; she was an active member of the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Mark Thomas and Stacy Thomas and two brothers, Billy Snider and Curtis Snider.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil, of the home and daughter, Sharon Duvall and husband, Brett, Clinton.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Courtney Roque, Matthew Thomas, Lawrence Sutherland, Tara Duvall, Lindsey Duvall and Derek Milligan.
