Tom served his country in the United States Marine Corp. he was a man of many talents who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tom worked as a city bus driver who was recognized for his heroic actions in saving a man's life while on duty. It warms our hearts to know Tom is restored to the healthy, kind, gentle yet strong man we knew and loved. We will miss his wicked sense of humor and flirting, but we will see his wonderful smile again someday.
Survivors: wife, Jane Pendergrass Vail; son, Steven Austin Spencer; daughter, Shannon Hughes; grandchildren, Justin and Jazmine; sister, Dorothy Spencer Becknell; step-children, Kim, Sean, Gabriel, Angie, Angelo, Annemarie, and Becca; two angels, Jamie and Shannon.
Tom's ashes will be scattered in his favorite fishing hole by Steven and Justin at a later date.
God bless him and comfort his many friends and family. He is only temporarily gone form our sight.
