Robert Walling died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at his home in Homosassa at the age of 78. He was a life long resident and third generation of Leesburg, only moving to Homosassa in 1986. After serving his country in the U.S. Coast Guard, Robert continued the operation of the family business (Walling Crate Co.) after the death of his father in 1957. He is survived by his wife, Lila; sons, Buzz (Stephanie) of Ponce Inlet, Bennett (Karen) of Leesburg, Stuart of Homosassa; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Charlie of Ponce Inlet, Kathryn and Caroline of Leesburg; sisters, Mary Edwards of Falcon, CO, and Sylvia Clark of Leesburg. Funeral services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Father Terry Jackson and Father Jay Lambert officiating. Interment will be at Lone Oak Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 204 Lee Street, Leesburg, FL 34748. Arrangements are entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg.
