Her parents were William Doughtery and Anna (nee Fleet) Doughtery. She had one sibling, Ida Mae, by her father's second wife, Julia (nee Winkert) Dougherty.
After her mother, Anna Elizabeth, died, the Fleet family was in litigation about the property that Georgiana would receive. The court battle left her with a small portion of an inheritance from the Fleet farm.
Georgiana's husband was Charles Henry Smith (1862-1914). He was buried at a private cemetery in Woodhaven, New York. (Note that Charles is buried right next to Georgiana at the Southside Burial Ground. ) - see chart

note: Georgianna's son, John Duryea Smith, was named after the lawyer, John Duryea (Special Guardian), assigned to litigate for her when she was a minor. She was to receive a portion of the inheritance her mother Anne Fleet was to receive. Anne's siblings were involved in the litigation as well for final property and monies from the Fleet farm. The farm had been in the family for generations and was prime Jamaica, Queens property.
