Janice V. Simmons was born in Bogalusa, LA. She met the love of her life while working at her family’s station. James and Janice were married and lived in various areas around New Orleans before finally setting down roots in James’s birth town.

Janice loved the Lord, she was a long time member of Westside Baptist Church, where she served on many committees and enjoyed her Sunday School class. She was also a member of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. Janice worked at several medical facilities before settling in the family owned trucking business, where she stayed until retirement. Janice was a master seamstress, she could look at a garment, go home, make her own pattern and by the next day it was finished. She was very talented in sewing, cake decorating, interior decorating and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. P.J. Vampran, brother Pat Vampran (Gayle), husband James R. Simmons, son in law Wayne Stockwell, and a granddaughter, Chasity Achord.
