Robert C. "Bob" Lay of Milford, OH. Born on January 16, 1929 in St. Charles, VA. Went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 62 years to Shirley Jean (Meredith) Lay. Loving father of Gina (Ryan) Barnhart and the late Lisa Lay. Caring grandfather of Jason, Gary and Chris Lay, Emily and Elizabeth Barnhart and the late Paul Lay. Dear brother of the late Paul, George & Earl Lay and Jean Hopper. Cherished son of the late Lawrence and Arvena (Broyles) Lay. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Bob retired from the US Air Force and the Kroger Company. Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 8 PM, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where friends will be received from 6 PM until the time of service. A Milford Lodge 54 F& AM Service will take place on Tuesday evening at the funeral home at 7:45 PM. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 10 AM at Campbell Memorial Gardens, 102 N. 5th St., LaFollette, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Repose General Fund or Building Fund, 6088 Branch Hill Guinea Pike, Milford, OH. 45150. Pastor Ken Slaughter of Mt. Repose First Baptist Church of Mt. Repose will be the presiding minister for Bob's services in Ohio.
